71 people were killed in a plane crash early in the morning of November 30th in Columbia. The pilot of LAMIA Flight 2933 has confirmed the cause of the plane crash that killed 71 out of 77 people: it was the lack of fuel. The fuel could have been cut off from a leak, internal icing, or the crew and pumps and gauges. Also another theory is that the plane took a circular flight pattern while they had the minimum gas to get to the airport. The circular flight pattern could be explained by the storms that were going on at the time.

A majority of the victims were members of a Brazilian soccer team. Many soccer stars like Pele are posting on social media mourning for the players, and the team that the Chapecoense Football Club was going against had a minute of mourning for the team at the location of the soccer game. The team was just named South American Cup Winners. Many other South American teams are offering their players to the Chapecoense Football Club until 2017 when they can get new players.(CNN). The death also broke many hearts, since one of these soccer players just found out he was going to be a dad before the flight.

Miraculously, among the rubble, there are survivors. Three Brazilian soccer players from the Chapecoense Football Club, two crew members, and one journalist survived the plane crash, and there is still not much information on their condition.
